Timo Vogt (*1980) is a German photographer working in the field of conflict reporting since several years. The recent journey to Deir az-Zor was his third trip to war-torn Syria within a year. Tired of seeing thousands of images in western media reports showing fights and fighters he wanted to approach this war by a different meaning. It has all begun with protests and creative young members of a democratic movement. He wanted to see what´s left after two years of raging fights and shelling. He was driven to go in again to find signs of hope in a forgotten part of Syria.
Timo Vogt (* 1980) est un photographe allemand qui travaille à documenter les zones de conflits depuis plusieurs années. Le récent voyage à Deir ez-Zor était son troisième voyage en Syrie en moins d'un an. Fatigué de voir des milliers d'images dans les médias occidentaux montrant uniquement les combats et les combattants, Timo a voulu montrer les autres aspects de cette guerre. Tout a commencé en Allemagne avec la participation à des manifestations et des actions avec de jeunes artistes membres du mouvement démocratique. Il a ensuite voulu voir ce qu'il se passait sur place après deux ans de combats et de bombardements, à la recherche de signes d'espoir dans cette partie oubliée de la Syrie.
