ROMANIA, 02.2010, Bucharest..Birds 'fishing' at the spilling of the sewage into Dimbovita. The sewage water is highly toxic, contains not only human excrements but also heavy metals and very dangerous toxins from industrial wastewaters. The giant water purification station of Bucharest, the second biggest of Europe (the 'eggs' are 35 m high) was built by Ceausescu in the 80's, but never finished. Even now, in 2010, the whole sewage of the Romanian capital is flowing in Dimbovita river, affluent of the Arges and the Danube, being one of the major pollution problem of the country..© Egyed Ufo Zoltan / Est&Ost Photography..
